School Wide Christmas Craft Project

Let’s bring some seasonal cheer into your elementary school this holiday season with this school wide Christmas craft project. Each student from preK to upper elementary will complete a puzzle (or simply color a coloring page for the youngest kiddos). Then string them altogether and you have a great Christmas display for everyone in the school to enjoy!

Community Building Christmas Light Bulbs with picture of completed math puzzle lights strung on a bulletin board.

Choose which puzzles to print for individual students to complete the school wide Christmas craft project. There are blank light bulbs for the youngest learners to color and then math options for the older students – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ask students to complete the puzzle, and then use them all to make one giant school-wide display!

Puzzle options - Each math puzzle comes in THREE options - easy cutting PDF, Print and Go PDF, and No Prep Digital (compatible with Google Slides). Images of the three are shown.

Maybe you’ll line the entire hallway or a commons space – like the lunchroom, auditorium, or library. Regardless – when the student see the completed display, they will feel like they are part of the school family. You can easily use black yarn to “tie” all the Christmas light bulbs together.

Bonus points if the older students help create the display!

These puzzles help students practice matching the correct problem and solution of basic math facts. You get EIGHT math puzzles, with each being available in a fully formed light bulb (that doubles as your answer key) and a print and go version. This print and go option can be handed to students to cut out so they don’t know the final shape.

There’s also a digital component via Google Slides. This would be great to send with a student going on vacation or doing virtual learning to help them be part of the group.

More details about the puzzle options are listed here.
