If you’re on the lookout for seasonal literacy centers you can use throughout the year with your students, this is it! Make learning grammar fun and engaging with these hands-on puzzles. Your students will get year-round practice with synonyms, antonyms, compound words, irregular plural verbs, irregular nouns, and contractions.
There are THREE DIFFERENT SHAPES included in this resource. You get:
• 13 flower shaped puzzles
• 10 pumpkin shaped puzzles
• 13 snowman shaped puzzles
→ → → Links to each included resource are located later on this page.
Unlike my math puzzles, only the three shapes listed above are included in this bundle.
This bundle contains eighteen different resources for a total of 36 literacy puzzle games. Each puzzle has two options – one easier option where the words all face the same direction and a tougher puzzle where the words face each other. Choose the option that works best for your students. This means you get 72 differentiated puzzle options to choose from!
Look at the savings in this bundle!!!
All puzzles also include a NO PREP version of each puzzle.
Please note that many of the words in the puzzles repeat. The contractions, irregular plural nouns, compound words, and irregular verbs are similar in each resource. For example, the contraction puzzles for all three seasons are going to be largely the same words. This allows your students to get repeated practice throughout the year.
However, the synonyms and antonyms for each season are DIFFERENT.
You also get two editable rubric options. Open them using PowerPoint, edit them to best fit your needs, and use them with your students during your ELA literacy centers or stations.
These literacy puzzles are great for centers, review, early and fast finishers, enrichment, GATE (gifted and talented education), and critical thinking skills. Students with special needs also do well with these once they understand the concept. Any student that needs a lesson in perseverance will benefit from these puzzles. With this fun game format your students will stay engaged while practicing necessary skills!
You can even use these puzzles as a collaborative project for partners or small groups. Whether students work on these individually or through collaboration, these puzzles will help students develop a growth mindset as they work through and analyze how to make the puzzle pieces fit together. Use the completed, colored puzzles to create a festive bulletin board! (It’s a great way to sneak in some arts and crafts, while keeping the learning academic!)
Below are links to the resources included in this download. The number of puzzles in each download is also listed. You get 36 pages of literacy center puzzle games! Each comes with an easier and harder version, so that’s actually 72 different puzzles to choose from. Plus there is a NO PREP version of every puzzle, making the total puzzle count 144!
