Winter Snowman Art Ideas

I always love looking at random art ideas and getting inspired, so today I wanted to share a couple snowman activities I’ve done in my classroom over the years. You’re going to love all the winter snowman art ideas! I’ve done these with Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders – so it’s safe to say they will work with nearly any elementary grade level.

When I walked into my first classroom, I also inherited an INSANE amount of paper plates! But that was alright by me because it meant I had a LOT of options for art projects. =) {When I say an insane amount – I really do mean that! There were two drawers of my file cabinet full of paper plates AND boxes in the supply closet as well! I did my best to use them up, but I know there were still two copy paper boxes there when I left two years later…}

This project simply involved paper plates, glue, construction paper, and markers. The kids were able to do it entirely on their own, and I was able to get a little correcting done in the process. {You have to get creative with finding time when you teach multiple grade levels at a Hutterite colony!}

This project involved make-up removing pads, twigs for arms, felt for the hat, and markers for the “extras” (although you could also easily use any other fun things that are in your art “stash”).

I have no idea how Google added the “snowing” effect to this picture, but it was too fun to not share! =)

This is a great way to recycle! We painted the caps of our pop bottles black. Shredded some white paper we had leftover in our classroom, and again used our random art “stash” to find the necessary embellishments needed for this snowman. The hardest part was filling up the bottles.
There you have it – a few of my favorite winter snowman art ideas!
