Winter Sight Word Centers {with FREE download!}

It’s been far too long since I’ve offered a freebie right here on the blog. That’s why today I want to share my Winter Sight Word Centers FREEBIE with all of you. But first, let me share on this came to be during this winter season.

Snowball Winter Sight Word Centers & Activities

We had an un-seasonally warm start to December here in South Dakota this year. However, by the end of the month, the snow was here and it was officially winter. As I was sitting in my chair, I started to think about how much fun it would be to go outside and throw snowballs. Yes, I realize that’s not the most appropriate thing for a 30-something-year-old woman to be doing. Plus the little man I chase around all day wouldn’t fair too well in the cold…

Anyway, that got me thinking about how I could do something, anything really, with snowballs in the classroom. Then I started thinking about how soon enough I’m going to have a little one underfoot who is going to need great activities like these! So I decided we can play a game of “Blizzard” with some paper snowballs!

Have you ever played the sight word “BAM!” game before? Basically you have a bunch of sight words face down. When you draw a word, you get to keep it if you can say it correctly. But if you draw a “BAM!” all of your words have to go back into the middle. The person at the end of the game with the most words wins. (Or the person with the most right at the end of the time – because all too often those BAM!s really get ya!)

Well that’s what today’s freebie is – except instead of BAM, I thought it would be fun to say BLIZZARD! With your FREE Winter Sight Word Centers download, you’ll get 40 pre-primer Dolch sight words and 52 primer Dolch sight words. There are also BLIZZARD! cards so you can play this fun game at home with your own children or in the classroom.

Not sure you want to play BLIZZARD!? No problem! Print the words out and let your students write the room. Or take your Winter Sight Word Centers and turn them into a matching game of Memory! Regardless of how you choose to use these snowball sight words, your students are going to love them!Winter Sight Word Centers & Activities for preschool, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade students
