Let’s face it – this time of year is CRAZY! The kids are wanting to spend all their time outside, teachers are stressed out and ready for summer, and sometimes things can get a little hectic with everything going on. So – why not try some math games? They’ll take a little bit of prep work on your part, but then you’ll have engaging activities for years to come!
Try Magic Squares!
These fun activities are engaging for students of all ages! You’ll need a little work ahead of time in prepping them, but you can recruit your students {or family members} to help you out with that.

Now for a tip about Magic Squares – make sure to thoroughly explain how they work to your students! Depending on what age 
your students are, there may be nine or sixteen total squares. But it’s important that your students know that these squares are “magical” because they form a square.

If you think that’s too much for your kids to handle, try this trick – put a star on the square that goes in the upper right-hand corner and let your students know that is their hint.
These can be played alone or with a partner. When I group students up on these, I pair them based on ability. I don’t want one student to do all the work while the other one just sits there.
